Safety at GPGC

MANAGEMENT COMMITMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

All owners, officers, senior management, foremen, lead men, and managers at all levels are responsible, accountable and liable for the safety of their personnel as well as creating a clear and visible expectation of the importance of safety.

Safety is a responsibility that rests with each level of employment at GPGC.  This is made possible through the development and execution of the safety program, safety committee, and the company’s policies and procedures. Reinforcement of the importance of safety throughout the organization is achieved through the personal commitment and involvement of all levels of management.

Importance is placed not only on safety policy review and implementation, but also safety meeting attendance and training. The leaders of GPGC take part in the creation of the strategies, systems, and methods for achieving high performance in safety. Adequate financial backing is provided to insure proper safety systems (equipment, training, resources, etc.).

The extensiveness of safety training at GPGC includes behavioral skills training, functional training, management awareness, basic safety awareness, impact of design on safe construction, maintenance, and operation, and incident investigation.

PURPOSE

To develop, co-ordinate, communicate, and administer the GPGC safety policies and procedures to meet and exceed the requirements of federal, state or local as well as OSHA regulations. To give guidance and direction to reduce accidents in order to add to the operational effectiveness of GPGC and its customers.  To minimize the suffering of personnel and financial losses as well as contribute to the morale and well-being of all personnel.
